While coaching many years of field hockey at Northport High School, I have seen first hand the positive impact a youth program can have on a program. Northport has been a top ranked team on Long Island for many years and has won multiple Suffolk County, Long Island, and NY State Championships. While there are many strong field hockey teams on Long Island, the consistency of the Northport program is a result of  the strength of it's youth program. Many field hockey players are introduced to the sport in middle school but the towns that have youth programs are introducing the sport long before 7th grade. Currently, there are youth field hockey programs starting up in towns all over Long Island. The goal of my program is to to introduce girls, in the Huntington area, to field hockey as early as possible. My goal is to keep it low key and fun! The program has grown quickly and we are excited to be starting out third year as the 2024 fall season approaches!
